1.Do you like art?

I have a lifelong passion for art since I was a child. Beside official art class in school, I also joined a drawing class in The Children’ House and my teachers were very pleased with my drawings. I also participated in some drawing competitions back then. Until now I still draw in my free time, although not as often as I used to do.

2.Do you think art classes are necessary?

Yes, definitely. Learning arts, especially at a young age, can help stimulate children’s cognitive development and encourage them to think outside the box. Because they’re still little, their ideas are very fresh and lovely, which is worth appreciating.

3.What kind of paintings do people like?

In my opinion, people love hanging landscape paintings at home. Bringing in the beauty of Mother Nature somehow ease people’s mind after a long day at work. Another style of drawing that most people also like is portrait. It could be portraits of someone important to them or even their lovely pets.

4.What benefits can you get from painting as a hobby?

I think the mediation efficiency worth mentioning first. Colors in some ways reflect our thoughts and emotions very well and somehow stimulate our body to defense against our negativity inside. For me, in particular, I think what’s so interesting about painting is that you have no idea how harmonized colors can become until you actually try.

5.How often do you visit art galleries?

To tell you the truth, I have never visited art galleries before. Unless I have a guide to acknowledge me, art galleries would be quite boring for me.

雅思口语A long walk话题

Describe a long walk you ever had.

You should say:

When this happened

Where you walked

Who you were with

And explain how you felt about the walk

Where you walked是回答的重点之一。

Well, firstly, I am really into long walk. I enjoy walking while thinking wildly, especially when I can walk with friends with whom we can exchange our ideas. You see, I grow up in a coastal city, but I prefer walking near lakes or mountains. I can still remember that last year, I went to Westlake in Hangzhou, with a friend that I got to know when we were buying second hand CDs. So we walked around Westlake and talked about music, and when we had some memory in common, we couldn’t help singing a song out, and that is a profoundly lovely experience. So yeah, long walk may be tiring, but it’s very exciting and fascinating as well. In my view, everyone should go for a long walk every now and then, to get away from their hectic routine life.

Be into sth. 当然,如果你是你是一个rarely go for a long walk的人,也没问题,态度诚恳最关键。 再者,海滨城市 costal city,同理,你如果住在内陆城市,inland city, 当然也可以说the walk that you will never forget is the one that you had in a coastal city.

雅思口语Park/public garden话题

1. Are there many parks or public gardens where you live 【or, in your hometown】?

I guess there are, there are many parks and public gardens in my hometown, like Xuan Wu park, Mo chou park, and I think the biggest and the most beautiful one is Xuan Wu park, people can do all sorts of things in the park, like jogging, taking a walk, boating and thingslike these. It’s pretty fun for all ages of people.

2. Do you often/ ever go to a park or a 【public】 garden?

trend趋势

jog慢跑walk my dog遛狗

I definitely often go to a park and/or gardens, the most common thing I would do is to jog there, take a walk after meal since it’s a trend now or just walk my dog in the gardens, so I would spend an hour or two in the park/garden everyday.

I don’t like to go to the park or public garden so often, since the park or public garden nowadays are full of people, mostly elderlies do square dancing there, so I think the park’s environment is not as good as I thought it would be.

3. When do people go there?

这个问题还是比较大的,所以大家可以把人群分类:游客:the tourists from other cities would go there on public holidays, coz the public gardens and parks are tourist attractions, so people would go to the parks and gardens to see the natural scenery and get the city’s vibe.

老年人:most of the elderly people would spend one hour or two in the early morning or after dinner in the park and public gardens to exercise and do square dancing.

年轻人:as for the most young people, there is a trend for health-keeping and exercise nowadays, so a lot of young people would choose to jog in the evening, maybe around 8-9pm at night.

4. Do you think parks and public gardens are important to a city? 【Why?/ Why not?】

这道题还是从正面角度去描述会比较方便:作为城市的风景 as the attractive sceneries of the city作为人们的聚集地 community gather in the parks and gardens作为环保的地域也有好处 green spaces are of great part of the park and public gardens, somehow are beneficial to the environment. Well, I think parks and public gardens are important to a city, as the attractive sceneries of the city, they represent the city and when tourists see the breathtaking views of gardens, they definitely will think highly of the city, besides, as they are the places for the community to gather together, for the kids to play in, for the family to have picnic and BBQs in.so…

1. Do you like to watch the sky?

喜欢看天空,喜欢什么时候看天空when I got nothing to do or have something stuck in my mind,在天空中你可以看到什么,crystal clear blue, clouds moving in an extremely subtle way, sometimes if I’m lucky, birds fly through in crowds看天空时候你的感觉是怎样的it’s the most peaceful moment then get wandering .

Example: Well, to be honest, I used to love looking up at the sky all the time. When I had my mind stuck in somewhere or simply got bored, I would go out to a roof or somewhere I can quietly enjoy the crystal clear blue sky, with the clouds moving subtlety, sometimes if I’m lucky, I can also see birds flying through in crowds. It was the most peaceful moment and perfect for wandering with the breezes. But now with the fog and haze, there’s no way I can do that again.

2.Do you prefer the sky during the day or at night?

难点是找出可以对比描述的方向,比如白天因为有太阳更加明亮而且温暖so much brighter and warmer because of the sun,晚上有星星,更加静谧tranquil。

Actually, I don’t have any particular preference over this since they both got unique features. In the daytime, it’s so much brighter and warmer because of the sun, so it is more comfortable to have the sunbath while watching the sky. But it is not as tranquil or fascinating as it is in the evening with all those shinning stars blinking towards me.

3.Have you learnt any courses about stars or planets?

I kind of have. I memorized a range of introductions in my geography class. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can recall any of those detailed information any more. But I do read or hear some news mainly about the where to get the best views of the "shooting stars" or things like this quite often. And almost every girl I know never stops gossiping about constellation, such as who is a typical Virgo or how can one get along well with a narcissistic Sagittarius. This is pretty much all I know about the stars. 4.Where is a good place to watch stars?

后续再描述具体的地方:比如the roof of the skyscrapers ,Closest place to the sky.

Well, I guess it depends greatly on where one live. I mean, for someone lives in the suburban district or country side, with less lights and average height of the house, positions for a better view may not matter that much. However, for one form urban areas, it would be excellent to stand on the roof of a skyscraper or get in a planetarium or museum where a telescope is set. Unfortunately, I have never tried this.
