Describe you first mobile phone.

You should say:

when and where you got it;

who gave it to you;

what it looked like;

and explain what difference it made to your life.

Everyone remembers getting their first mobile phone like it was yesterday. My first phone was as slow as molasses in January and ugly as sin, but at the time I was as happy as a clam! I still have the phone today as I keep it for the memories and nostalgia. It looks so outdated these days against modern smartphones, like an old relic.

My mother surprised me with this phone on my 17th birthday. I remember waking up to find a small package next on my bed next to my head. I had no idea what it was, so I ripped open the wrapping paper with a huge grin on my face. To my surprise, my mum had bought me a stunning Nokia phone and I was in seventh heaven.

When I compare this phone with modern smartphones, it looks like something out of a museum. However, at the time the phone was actually considered to be quite modern and sleek in design. It was silver in color and had an elegant slide cover that clicked into place.

What I remember most is how the phone totally changed my life and opened up new opportunities for me. I joined a Chinese messaging service called QQ and I was instantly connected to all my friends 24/7. It was so addictive! I spent hours in deep chats with people all over China and the rest of the world. It was an amazing experience.

1.When was the last time you worked with a team?

Well, I can’t clearly remember the exact date, I think it was someday last month, when …

I was designated to arrange a sports competition with my team. My team was asked to carry out a project about promoting the sales of one product of my company. 2. Group discussion:classmates discuss a specific questionSeminar:a discussion led by a professorPresentation:investigation into a issue and present the result/ findings by using slides and giving a speech. 3. My parents and I worked together as a team to make a trip plan for our family and my uncle’s.

It was last Wednesday, when I and my teammates were required to do a presentation task about the course regarding environmental change. I was in charge of preparing the PPT slides, and others gave the speech.

2. Do you like to work or study with others or just by yourself?

题目里面的工作和学习其实是两件事情,但是,由于是part1的题目,没有必要区分得那么详细,我们简单把一个人学习和小组学习的优缺点都说一下。单独学习:更少干扰:Less distraction, concentrate更好的时间安排:arrange courses according to their own time arrangement根据自己的兴趣:according their one’s own interest小组学习:交流、合作、竞争:communication/ cooperation/ competition有意思::more interesting相互借鉴:draw experience from other members提高效率:improve work/ study efficiency

3. What’s the most important thing for teamwork?

Each team member should be committed to the task, even sacrifice their own interest when necessaryResponsibility:每个人要对自己的工作负责人,而不是指望别人Task distribution:任务分工要明确,每个人知道自己做什么 task distribution should be clear so that each member know exactly what to do and when their job should be finishedMutual help:成员相互之间要互相帮助,以最终完成实现目标为前提Leadership:有一个明确的,有能力的领导,也是决定成功的关键acompetent leader is also a key to the ultimate success

4. Do you like to be a leader?

I like to manage people, I think I was born to be a leader, because I have inherited related gene from my parents, they are both good leader of their companies. I have a great sense of responsibility, I will be much willing to shoulder the responsibility of the achievement of the team or its failure.

如果不希望成为领导,可能是因为:责任太大,我hold不住: as a leader, one has to assume too much responsibility, which I do not think I am capable to do我喜欢被安排,完成自己的部分就好了,要去管别人,我会有很多的顾虑

I prefer to be given clear job to accomplish as only part of the whole project. If I were asked to manage a team, I might lead the team to the wrong way.

Describe a small thing you do to help the environment

You should say:

what you do

why you want to do it

how you do it

and explain why it can help the environment

比如保护环境的说法:environment protection; preserve the environment; 节能减排: save the energy and reduce the carbon dioxide emission;低碳经济:low-carbon economy等,这些比较常规的说法大家还是要事先做一个准备,在必要的时候可以展示出来。

针对这道题目,具体的选择可以有:垃圾分类 sort the garbage out / classify the waste不使用一次性餐具 disposable tableware / one-time tableware一次性筷子一般可以说成 disposable chopsticks纸张回收 recycle paper避免过度使用汽车或者以骑车的方式代替开车 reduce the overuse of vehicle / ride a bicycle instead of driving如此等等,甚至,有些同学因为一时没有想到任何具体的环保措施,就把“宣传环保”作为答案,说自己常年在居住的小区向大家普及环保的概念。

The small thing I do to help the environment is to recycle paper. Actually I didn’t start to do this until I was in high school. At the very beginning, I used to writing only on one side of each piece of paper and then threw it away.But one day, my science teacher in high school showed us a documentary on environment protection, which told us about the severe environmental problems that imposed a huge threat on human beings. In the documentary, paper-using was especially mentioned for the reason that we actually cut down tons of trees each year just to make all sorts of papers. I was shocked by the image of the black, bare, lifeless mountain after all the trees were moved. More seriously, cutting trees led to climate change, which further on, triggered catastrophes such as flood, blizzard, and landslide. They all made people nearby suffer from a miserable life. At that moment, I decided that I should cherish each piece of paper and avoid overusing it.From then on, I never threw any paper away without using both sides of it. Moreover, I collect wasted paper everyday and sort them out according to their raw material. Then I take the wasted paper to the recycling station, where they are more carefully divided into various categories and later, will be used to produce other paper-products.Not only do I do this by myself, I also encourage my schoolmates and friends to do this together. I understand that the paper I can recycle only accounts for a tiny proportion of paper in everyday use. However, I believe that this small action may seem to be a drop in a bucket, but with our effort accumulating, it will finally make a difference. If we save one piece of paper each day, we may save one tree, or even a small woodland each year.

Describe an activity you do to keep fitYou should say:

What the activity is

When and where you usually do it

How you do it

and explain why it can keep you fit.

Describe something that you want to learn more.

how: 如何学会的?swimming club / health clubswimming videosshallow end浅水区 deep end深水区

如何有益于你的身体健康? a great exciselow impact伤害较低,影响较低it works every musclethe water is relaxing and stress-relieving解压,放松参考词汇:drown: 溺水,淹没overcome: 克服the fear of ...: 对...的恐惧 the fear of waterstart off: 开始available: 可利用的,有空的conquer: 克服,战胜knees: 膝盖注意k不发音ankles: 脚踝Iwas almost drowned when I was little so I do not enjoy being in the water. I wanted to overcome my fear of water. And it was definitely a challenge for me. I learned it in a health club and practiced from watching some swimming videos. I started off in the shallow end, where I could touch my feet to the bottom. When I felt more comfortable, I went to the deep end. Now I am not that good at it but I conquered my fear of water and I go swimming at least once a week. It becomes a part of my schedule. Swimming is a great exercise and it is low impact if I can overcome the fear of water. I feel it’s refreshing, it doesn't stress my knees or ankles as much as other sports, and it works every muscle in my body. It's an intense workout, but at the same time the water is relaxing and stress-relieving.
