Describe a traditional product in your country

You should say:

What the product is该产品是什么

When you tried this product for the first time你什么时候尝试的第一次

What it is made of它由什么制成

And explain why you like this product

The traditional product I am going to tell you is Chinese tea. According to popular legend, tea was discovered by Chinese Emperor Shen Nong about 5000 year ago when a leaf from a nearby shrub fell into water the emperor was boiling. He believed that tea can clean our stomach and serve as antidote. Tea is deeply woven into the history and culture of China. The beverage is considered one of the seven necessities of Chinese life, along with firewood, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce and vinegar. And it can be classified into five distinctive categories based on the different fry methods.

Ever since I remember, tea has been a part of my life. When you make a Chinese tea, just put it into boiling water. Never add milk and sugar. Wait for a few minutes so that the color, flavor and goodness to come out. Then you take a deep breath to appreciate its fragrancy and begin to sip. Generally speaking, it would taste a little bitter at first, which I suspect may be the reason that Chinese tea is not popular abroad. But after several seconds, you can feel sweetness through your tongue.

I love tea, not only because it is beneficial for my health, but because it is also a good way to socialize. During my spare time, I often invite two or three friends under the excuse of tasting some special tea and have a wonderful time.

Describe a traditional product in your country 【

I ’ d like to talk about Qipao, which is a traditional Chinese gown for ladies. It was created about 100 years ago, and was first made fashionable by socialites and upper class women as stylish party dress. This kind of dress is full of Chinese flavor, on some international occasions, it ’ s like a symbol of China. And it ’ s always made of silk, which is also a typical Chinese fabric. It is the kind of material that makes a piece of clothes look more gorgeous and chic, and of course, of higher quality. And the patterns on the dress tend to be flowers and birds, which represent vigor and youth. This kind of dress is tight-fitting and brings out the attractive figure of women, you know, makes them look more sexy and elegant.

That ’ s why we can always see people wear them in formal occasions, like ceremonies or important meetings. For example, every time our First Lady went to visit national leaders in foreign countries, she would always take several pieces with her. And Song Meiling, who used to be the first lady of Republic of China, never showed up in public without wearing Qipao.

Not only in China, now countless foreigners have also become big fans of it. I mean, it ’ s not uncommon to see actors wearing this kind of dress in foreign movies.Oh, I almost forgot, now we have upgraded Qipao a little bit. The modernized style is more functional and better suits our taste. For example, sometimes we make the hemline shorter and a lot wider, so that ladies are more comfortable when they walk in it.

I would like to talk about a traditional product in China that has a profound history and that is green tea. Tea is a beverage made from the leaves of tea plants. It can be consumed as a substitute for plain water and is very good to health. Chinese people have a very long history in drinking tea. It is considered one of the seven necessities of life, along with rice, oil, salt and other materials. I first tried to drink tea when I was very young, about six years old. At that time the flavor of tea was too intense to me and I didn’t like it. But with time passing by I begin to fall in love with its taste. It makes me feel refreshed.

I have seen a worker process the tea. The whole process is very complicated. First you need to collect the tea leaves grown in the mountain. After that you put the leaves in a large pan and use gentle fire to make moisture evaporate. Then the tea leaves could be preserved for a long time. I am deeply fascinated by the process of tea making. I admire the wisdom of traditional Chinese people. In China there are many tea houses where you can have tea with your friends. Through tea people feel close to each other, and that maybe the reason why people, including me, like tea.

Sample answer:

We have many festivals in China, and each festival has its own traditions. The most famous festival in China is the Spring Festival, but I’d like to talk about traditions of another important festival, called Zhong Qiu Jie, or Mid-Autumn Day. It is perhaps lesser-known outside of China, but it is my favourite festival, so I’d like to give a detailed【详细的】 introduction about traditions of Mid-autumn festival.

In that day, the most important tradition is to eat the moon cakes. As well as being delicious, moon cakes have a special meaning. They are round, which is a symbol of family and togetherness【团聚】. They usually have a sweet filling, which represents a sweet and happy life. Moon cakes are generally only around at this time of year, so it’s important to make the most of them while you can.

As you can tell, I’m a big fan of Mid-Autumn Day. And I think the tradition of eating moon cakes should be preserved. It makes me feel warm, thinking about my family, and a little nostalgic【乡愁的】 as I remember all the years I have eaten moon cakes. I believe it’s very important to keep these traditional festivals going as they rein-force Chinese culture and remind us to think about our families at a time when more and more people may live a long way from home.
