主体段落是整篇文章中重要的组成部分，Introduction和Conclusion这两段只是文章完整性的配套设施而已。因此，写好主体段落才是essay writing的关键。

主体段落的主要功能【main purpose】是:Carry the main information of the whole essay,including specific evidence. A new Body paragraph introduces a new point, theme, or angle, and differentmain ideas are divided into different body paragraphs.

[主体段包含各种具体的事实和例证，每个主体段都有一个观点、主题或角度，不同的主题应该用不同的主体段来讨论。]其实就是所谓的theme，几乎所有文章的主体段都是按不同focus或不同观点【其实也是议论文的不同focus】或角度去分段。

一个主体段落可以由三个部分组成:主题句【one topic sentence】、支持句【【2-3 supportingideas】和拓展句【no more than 5 developing sentences】。
